Job Summary: The Outbound Operations Supervisor (PM) provides essential front-line leadership and direct oversight to the shipping team, ensuring the accurate and efficient daily execution of all sortation, manifesting, and loading tasks. This role is responsible for coaching associates, managing high-volume conveyor sortation, ensuring adherence to carrier pickup schedules, and maintaining international shipping compliance. The Supervisor champions continuous improvement, supports lean practices, and maintains unwavering alignment with safety and quality standards during the night shift. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Supervise, train, and directly coach the Outbound Operations associates to achieve daily productivity and quality targets in sortation, trailer loading, and shipment accuracy. Oversee high-volume small parcel sortation off the conveyor system, ensuring all packages are sorted to the correct carrier lanes and processed for timely departure. Execute the daily outbound operations plan as directed by the Operations Manager, providing timely feedback on volume fluctuations or equipment challenges. Manage multi-modal shipping workflows, including small parcel, LTL (Less Than Truckload), and FTL (Full Truckload) departures, ensuring all documentation is accurate and trailers are loaded for maximum cube utilization. Coordinate the Home Office Shuttle, ensuring all internal transfers are staged, loaded, and dispatched according to the night-shift schedule. Ensure International Compliance, overseeing the preparation of commercial invoices and export documentation to ensure seamless global transit. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure associate compliance with company policies and procedures. Enforce and actively champion all safety protocols, performing daily safety checks and reporting hazards immediately to management, especially regarding dock safety and trailer tethering. Drive performance to meet daily, monthly, and annual throughput and "On-Time Ship" targets. Onboard, train, and mentor Outbound Associates on all SOPs, shipping software, and quality standards; conduct daily performance check-ins. Maintain accountability for the successful operation of the assigned shift, ensuring all manifest closures and carrier pickups are completed before shift-end. Conduct hands-on quality control audits of outbound shipments to prevent mis-ships and ensure labels are applied correctly according to carrier standards. Promote lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives across outbound workflows to reduce "touches" per package. Advise the Operations Manager on staffing needs, equipment requirements, and conveyor maintenance needs during peak seasons. Monitor and report on performance data from Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and carrier platforms; utilize automated reports to quickly address bottlenecks in the sortation area. Qualifications: Bilingual – Spanish Required Must be able to work a 4:00pm – 4:00am Shift Experience working with process improvement ideologies, e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar is a plus. Minimum of 2 years of progressive operations experience in a supervisory or Lead role, specifically within shipping or outbound logistics. Experience directly supervising and coaching a team of 15–30 associates in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including parcel carrier software and freight BOL (Bill of Lading) requirements. Experience in creating productivity improvement through continuous improvement efforts. Ability to be flexible, collaborative, and drive performance during overnight hours. Analyze data to identify defects, shipping errors, and conduct root cause analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
