Job Description:
Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for
ensuring plant maintenance is completed at or above expected
levels, in a safe manner, and is completed within or below budget
for materials and labor. The Supervisor is the critical factor in
providing a positive work environment in which employee problems
are recognized and responded to effectively, all employees
understand their responsibilities and performance expectations, are
enabled to perform their jobs effectively, and are encouraged to
share and act upon their ideas for improvement. Essential Duties
and Requirements include the following. Other duties may be
assigned. Participate in daily production meetings to support
operational needs; utilize maintenance resources to develop plans
for corrective action, and develop sustainable programs to reduce
repeat failures. Preventative Maintenance- Support maintenance
planner in development of maintenance plan and ensure the
application of resources to accomplish repairs. Support (MP2)
maintenance management system and ensure it's full utilization.
Maintain plant according to food quality specifications Maintain
safety standards for plant conditions and employees Work with
internal/external customers to meet objectives Utilize initiative
and influence to drive results and promote continuous improvement
Utilize expertise to solve problems, optimize systems, and plan for
future requirements Responsible for recognizing and reporting food
safety and employee safety issues. Supervisory Responsibilities
Daily Operations-supervision of maintenance employees, scheduling,
employee development. The Maintenance Supervisor sets an example of
personal performance and integrity which encourages excellence.
Selects mechanics for the projects and provides training and
coaching. Provides feedback when results are at or below
expectations and identifies key issues and provides a clear course
of action. Keeps subordinates informed about department and company
objectives and maintains an atmosphere where subordinates are free
to voice their opinions. Accomplishes the job in a timely manner,
provides quality work and continually strives to increase
technical, business, and interpersonal knowledge. To successfully
perform this job, the Supervisor will usually work forty-five to
fifty hours per week, including time spent preparing for the shift,
completing end-of-shift documentation, and attending training
sessions and meetings. Qualifications To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

background with production/packaging machinery. Considerable
knowledge of food manufacturing processes and accompanying
maintenance protocol Must be a dynamic individual who is quality
and customer oriented with the ability to coach employees to
achieve established organizational goals. Knowledge of and ability
to read and interpret reports, schematics, diagrams and other
maintenance troubleshooting guides. Ability to supervise in a
non-union environment. Excellent listening, speaking, and writing
skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks with time, people, and
equipment restraints. Excellent oral and written skills required.
Education and/or Experience 5 - 10 years experience in a
supervisory role 3 - 5 years equivalent experience with AS degree
in a technical discipline 2 years equivalent experience with BS

Exposure to high intensity noise. Work conditions may expose person
to natural elements. Work on scaffolding or other elevated
platforms up to 30 feet. Required working long periods while
standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling or walking. Use
electric/pneumatic power tools with sharp rotating/reciprocating
blades. Exposed to heavy lifting, products that produce burns or
freezing, hazardous vapors and chemical reactions, to include
batteries, fuels, oils, solvents, gasses and pressurized systems.
Exposed to airborne particles when cutting, fabricating, repairs or
installation of equipment and parts. Will encounter electrical,
mechanical, pneumatic, steam and chemical hazards. May require
entry into confined spaces and exposure to human diseases during
the job. Will encounter material and equipment operating at high
