You will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties, including shopping centers. Responsibilities: As a Senior Property Accountant, you will play a critical role in our company's financial management. Your responsibilities will include: 1. Overseeing and managing the entire accounting cycle for a portfolio of commercial properties. 2. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 3. Managing all aspects of lease accounting, including tracking lease changes, calculating rent escalations, and reviewing lease abstracts for accuracy. 4. Performing year-end close processes and preparing audit schedules. 5. Utilizing Yardi or equivalent property management software for financial reporting and analysis. 6. Participating in the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and explanations. 7. Coordinating with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. 8. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards. 9. Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications: 1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant professional certification is preferred. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting, with a focus on property accounting. 3. Proficiency in Yardi or equivalent property management software. 4. Extensive experience with lease accounting and year-end close processes. 5. A deep understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. 6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team. 8. High level of integrity and professionalism. 9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 10. Knowledge of fund accounting is a plus.
